found this while clicking "next blog" and am blown away. you so successfully blew open the farce of religion for what it is so much better than i could ever have hoped to do so myself. i'm putting this on facebook, hope my christian friends wont be too assaulted...
I think your blog is really interesting, not that I agree with all of it, but it is interesting. I honestly don’t know what I believe, but I was brought up in a Christian reformed household with a mother who is an ordained pastor. I went throw a time when I hated the church with about as much passion as you seem too, but something changed recently. I have found that there is actually something absolutely beautiful about Christianity. Not necessarily the church, which is for the most part full of hypocrisy and liars, but the actual God that Christians believe in. I understand what you said about the way Christians make their own Jesus. I have seen this done many times, but I think that there is something larger then that which you seem to be missing. God, and Jesus, are not meant to be our friends, they aren't even necessarily meant to be good. God does things in the bible that are horrible, that have turned a lot of people away, but that doesn't mean God does not exist. No human could possibly know. It’s a trust thing. So I don’t know why you try so hard to berate it. If people want to bye into Christianity it’s their choice. I haven’t made that choice yet, but I would never tell people they are idiots for making it. ps. that thing you said on money in church; I made the exact same argument to my father about a week ago and completely shut him up. It’s a very god point against the church.
