A Letter To The Editors Of The Christadelphian Magazine Emailed 23 April 2013

Dear Andrew and Roger

I'm sorry but you have lost the plot. Your magazine has become irrelevant to the Christadelphian community, other than being a notice board of ecclesial news. Soon even that function will probably be taken from you, as others move the function online and away from your office.

Your articles are unimaginative and predictable with no original thinking. Your discussion is banal and boring. Your editorials are empty platitudes that go nowhere and change nothing.

Reading your magazine I'm left with the impression that you have cornered the geriatric part of the Christadelphian spectrum and lost the exciting debates and real evolution of the religion to fast moving online discussion in which the CMPA plays no part and has no influence or even knowledge of what is happening.

Your efforts to modernise the graphic design of the magazine are commendable. But you have merely moved it from the 1950s to the 1980s. No one in their right mind produces a magazine with a design like that these days.

You have a dire lack of talent within the CMPA and a complete absence of talent amongst the writers for your magazine. The whole thing is going nowhere, apart from comforting the white haired old sisters and balding brethren who buy your magazine and providing employment for you and your staff. You are running the thing with one foot in the grave. Your religion is dying and you are officiating at its funeral.

Someone needs to tell you what a complete mess you are making of the whole things and I'm telling you.

With love, best regards and the hope that I spur you to act to fix some of these problems.

John Bedson
